Sustainability

Here at Woven Art Company Ltd., we pride ourselves on our green credentials. Our digital print technology uses significantly less water and energy than traditional printing techniques, whilst also reducing emissions and waste.

By using digital print technology, we are able to recycle the paper used in the sublimation printing process locally, whilst also recycling our fabrics. We often donate unused fabric to schools and colleges in the local area for textile projects and classes, so little of our produce goes to waste. All of our inks and printers are OEKO certified machines and products.

Recently, we have taken further steps to improve our environmental impact, by sourcing a range of recycled fabrics, many of which are available using a ‘green’ fire retardant coating. The eco fabric bases are composed of mainly of Repreve, which is a term to describe recycled polyester made from post or pre consumer waste, for example, plastic bottles.

All of our eco fabrics are also available FR coated or non-Fr.

We also strive to source recycled or sustainable yarns wherever possible, such as our beautiful wool collection ‘Herriot’, whereby all the yarns used derive their colours only from mother nature through the grading of the undyed fleeces. The fabrics are then ‘finished’ using natural soaps. You can’t get much greener than that!
